The Apologetics of John Cleese & Life of Brian —or— The Apologetics of False Jesus’John Cleese in interviews about the movie “Life of Brian” takes the opportunity to discredit Christianity, putting forward a Jesus, Bible and Christianity that does not match well at all with historic Christianity. We specifically look at his charges that Jesus never takes a stance at all on abortion or homosexuality/same-sex marriage. We begin to mention other false Jesus’ which will be taken up in future programs, e.g. Bill O’Reilly’s “Killing Jesus” or Joseph Girzone’s series on “Joshua,” as well as Dan Kimball’s “They Like Jesus but Not the Church.”
